Synopsis[]
Kidpaw sense a storm coming and recalls Toadpetal, an elder swept away by the waves when he was a kit. His sister, Lizardpaw joins him and remarks that Pebblepaw is frightened and has retreated to the top of the cliff. When she leaves, her brother teases her for being frightened too.
Just then, Kidpaw hears a scream from his sister. He looks up to see her dangling from a cliff. Lizardpaw explains she has found a shell for their younger sibling, Emberkit. Kidpaw helps her retrieve it, but it is then knock off the cliff by the wind.
The two return to the den with their parents and younger siblings where Kidpaw repeats his sentiment that some terrible was about to come.
